Weekly food assistance for schoolchildren

Thanks to your help, we are making a vital difference for families during this corona crisis! Every week we get to distribute food packages to Pasuk-supported families again, consisting of rice, vegetables, potato, oil, dried fish and vitamin tablets. The children and their parents are extremely grateful that they are thought of, now that their jobs and income have been completely lost.  Distribution Our team in Cebu is making sure that the distribution of the packages is safe and structured. Special to mention is that Russel (Pasuk project director at CBC) works as a driver at courier service Lalamove. Since couriers are still allowed through at the checkpoints, we are in the wonderful opportunity to deliver the food parcels to the children in slums a little further away. We are grateful to God that He keeps providing everything! The need is high Because of the coronavirus outbreak, our Pasuk schoolchildren and their parents have to stay home as much as possible. The mandatory quarantine means that there is no income and thus no money to buy food. People living below the poverty line have challenges in ordinary daily life anyway to make good ends meet. Not being allowed to work now creates major problems in families. Many of our schoolchildren live in small shacks, where it is hot and stuffy. The children are extremely bored and would love to go to school or play outside. Only one adult person per family is allowed on the streets, and only to buy food. In the slums, the police check that the quarantine is observed. Give food to a family Still there is a great demand for help. It is our prayer that we may and can continue to help.
