On Friday night, Nov. 27, a very large fire devastated Lawis slum - in Mambaling district, Cebu City. According to official figures, 641 houses went up in flames and 700 families (over 3,000 people) were left homeless. Two Pasuk sponsor children - half-sisters Claudine and Charilyn - were also affected by the devastating fire. The children are fortunately unharmed, but they lost all their belongings. Currently, the girls are being sheltered with their families in a nearby school building. The local government is providing food and drink to the victims. However, clothes, bedding and kitchen utensils are urgently needed. You can contribute to this, read more below the video.

Emergency fund opened The Pasuk team is on site to encourage and practically assist the children during this difficult time. Where help from the local government stops, we are happy to supplement what is further needed. Pasuk Foundation has opened a specific fund to help the affected children so they can return to school after the Christmas vacations and rebuild their lives. What exactly is needed for the longer term will become clear in the near future.
