Exactly six months ago, Cebu City, as well as much of the Philippines, was hit by a super typhoon. This storm, also called "Odette" by locals, caused major damage on the island. Wind gusts of up to 260 kilometers per hour raged across Cebu. That day is etched deeply in the memory of both the Pasuk staff and sponsor children. The roofs of 27 sponsor children were blown off their houses, leaving them homeless. Other houses were totally destroyed and the building of our church partner "Cebu Bible Church" (CBC) was also badly damaged. Despite this tragedy, there was also great cause for gratitude. None of the sponsored children were injured. For this we thank and praise the Lord. We are also very grateful and amazed by the many donations and prayers.

Emergency Fund
Pasuk Foundation established an emergency fund to provide emergency assistance. This help initially consisted of water and emergency power supply. Also the roofs had to be repaired as soon as possible to make the houses habitable again. In early January, some of the houses of our Pasuk children were renovated, but building materials were scarce. Throughout the city, people were active in repairing their homes to make them habitable again. In the weeks that followed, we were able to help 27 families from the emergency fund. Pasuk provided a team of carpenters and all the building materials needed to restore a habitable home in a short time! What was needed for this work? Corrugated sheets: 194 pieces, coconut wood: 215 posts, 73 pounds of nails, 25 pieces of plywood sheets. In total, our carpenters spent over 500 hours - what a huge job! Repair work also took place on CBC's church building. Both the garage, the washroom and the main building had to be repaired. Double gratitude
At the end of May we were able to celebrate the 6th anniversary of "Quiot Bible Church," a daughter church of CBC in the hills of the city where Pasuk sponsor children also live. This was a highlight for staff and staff alike. The rebuilding of the activity center of 'Quiot Bible Church' had been successfully completed just before this date, allowing the celebration to take place in the repaired building. This made the celebration extra special and joyful. We are so grateful to the Lord for the work that could be done, especially in the past period we were able to experience again: God who helps in need! Give thanks for
