Rows of baskets filled with brand new pens, cover paper and notebooks with bright white pages ready to be written on by diligent Pasuk students. It is once again our annual "school campus" in Cebu City's department store. The summer vacation has flown by. A period with highs and lows. How touched we were by the passing of Cherry Mae and how much the students enjoyed themselves during the annual Vacation Bible Week. Fortunately, after a long period of lockdown and home schooling, the schools in town have opened and the children can finally enjoy classroom education again. And Pasuk gets to provide the children with their needed school supplies. What a treat! Continue reading below the video.
Pasuk's staff was allowed to distribute school supplies for the upcoming academic year. Getting new supplies is a great experience for the children every year. As far as possible, the children come with their parents to the big department store. With happy faces, shopping baskets are filled with pencil cases, scissors, markers and all kinds of other school supplies. The parents are very grateful, they experience this gift as an enormous blessing, because with this help they do not have to go into debt to buy school supplies for their child. The Pasuk staff coordinates this pleasant shopping event and sees to it that every student gets what he or she needs. For an impression of the school supplies, check out the photos at the bottom of this page. Back to school This year is extra special because the children can finally go back to school. For as many as 30 months, schools have been closed due to strict covid19 restrictions. Because of these regulations, they had to be home schooled. This has been an intensive period for the staff. Faithfully they visited the students at home. We also helped the students with our homework help program. Thanksgiving - The schools were allowed to reopen after a long time of covid19 restrictions. - All Pasuk children were provided with needed school supplies. Prayer Points - Protection of the students in the coming school year.
