Why we care

Imagine… growing up as a child in a slum, surrounded by noise, stench, and trash. Today, you haven’t eaten anything yet. Your mother gave you a few coins to get through the day before she left for work. You can only hope there will be a meal on the table tonight. You feel sad and hopeless. Your father died in prison, and there’s no money for school supplies. Because of this, you missed the start of the school year, but you still dream of returning to school one day, learning a trade, finding a job. Getting away from here…

This heartbreaking situation is the daily reality for millions of children in the Philippines. The slums, where lack of basic needs and educational opportunities is the norm, are often places of hopelessness and extreme poverty. But in the midst of these challenges, there is hope for the most vulnerable children.

Our Mission
Pasuk Foundation is a Christian child development organization that has been active in the Philippines for over 25 years. We believe every child is unique and valuable. That’s why we aim to empower vulnerable children to develop their talents and reach the purpose for which they were created. In partnership with local churches in the Philippines, Pasuk Foundation offers hope and education to these children. Hope, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And we provide educational opportunities to encourage their growth and self-reliance.

Core values
Our approach is built on a unique combination of four core values:

INTEGRATED APPROACH
Poverty is a complex issue that can only be effectively addressed when tackled on all fronts. That’s why we support Pasuk children through an integrated approach, addressing their mental, physical, social, and spiritual poverty.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Hope and education are the keys to development. For over 25 years, we have seen how a positive outlook on the future and quality education make a real difference in the lives of Filipino children growing up in poverty. That’s why we provide them with the necessary school supplies so they can attend school.

THROUGH LOCAL CHURCHES
The Gospel offers hope, even in the Philippines. In the slums where we work, many families are trapped in spiritual poverty. That’s why Pasuk Foundation partners with Bible-believing Christian churches in the Philippines, which actively share the Gospel and work to help children and their families in practical ways.

WITH VOLUNTEERS
Pasuk Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization, fully utilizing the time and talents of volunteers, as well as products and services from companies and various grants. This keeps our costs low, ensuring that at least 95% of donor contributions go directly to the development of the Pasuk children.
